Music...wait, what day is it? (by Liza...hey, I could be a member of the Wu-Tang Clan...Lza)

I'm on deadline...like vomit inducing deadline. And the main thing that's keeping me from putting my head in the oven is music. Well, that and coffee. And...those little Madelaine's from Starbucks? Yeah those too.

So, here are some of the songs I've obsessively listened to for the past few months. Since I'm on crunch time now - I'm really only listening to one song and the minute I clicked on it...my entire body/mind got into this zone...Deadline Time. The song is called The Healing and it's off of the Lady in the Water soundtrack. If you scroll down on the link you can get a listen (Prologue and Cereal Boxes are also good...)

But before The Healing - I was listening to a lot of Brandi Carlile (Turpentine is insanely good, followed closely by Downpour), Ryan Adams (Two and Come Pick Me Up from the great Elizabethtown soundtrack). This playlist has a lot of Alexi Murdoch - I found this great song, Song For You, the other night when I was sitting in this wine bar and it just came on over the sound system. One of those perfect music moments. All My Days is also really good - it apparently has the Indie Stamp o'Approval as it was used in the OC.

I'm listening to the Once soundtrack still (The Hill by Marketa Irglova is my favorite) Whenever one builds a more melancholy playlist - Damien Rice is a necessity. 9 Crimes will pretty much do the trick every time (this clip is from one of my favorite shows, Live at Abbey Road on the Sundance Channel. Highly recommended)

Obviously there are the old stand-bys: Sarah McLachlan (Hold On, World on Fire and Fallen made it on this playlist), Tori Amos (Bouncing off Clouds and Northern Lad)and David Gray (As I'm Leaving and The Other Side)

I found this song today and I love it. I wish I'd had it months ago. I'm a big Sia fan and love most everything she does. This song is no exception.

Sia - Soon We'll be Found

Oooh, here it is acoustic.

Have a great week! Me? I'll be listening to The Healing and eating York Peppermint Patties.
