A Little International Traveling Music by Megan

This post is in honor of Liza, who is even now exploring England and Ireland.

Here's Tom Petty singing "American Girl" at the Superbowl. Frankly, I prefer the studio version of the song, but you can't have everything:

Here's a combination of two of my very favorite things, Counting Crows singing "American Girls" and Gossip Girl with, yes, that limo scene involving my beloved Chuck Bass:

You can see the actual Counting Crows video here. Though, I warn you, much as I worship him with all that I am, Adam Duritz's hair is a whole... situation.

Here's a link to "Land of Canaan" by the Indigo Girls-- another excellent traveling song.

Here's Snow Patrol singing "Make This Go On Forever," live:

Paul Simon's sad, "far from home," wandering song, "American Tune," live from 1975:

And the ultimate road-tripping song, while we're thinking about Paul Simon-- "America" by Simon & Garfunkel, which is completely inappropriate for Liza's current trip:

Okay. Here's Billy Bragg's classic "A New England," to get back on track:

And my favorite Irish boyband, Westlife:

This is the video with the lipsyncing all messed up:

A better, unembeddable version is here, complete with lyrics!

And a song to speed Liza safely home to the beautiful west coast, Joni Mitchell singing "California," one of the best songs ever:

Happy trails!

Love, love love love love Snow Patrol. I think that is the perfect band to inspire my new book for Harlequin. Megan, remember how I said I needed some great music for this one? I think it's time to pull out my Snow Patrol CDs for a marathon write/brainstorm session!

"Set Fire to the Third Bar" could inspire whole novels, in my opinion. I love Snow Patrol!
